The ORTHODYNAMIC™ driver
In the 1970s Yamaha introduced the Orthodynamic™ planar magnetic driver,
starting with the HP-1, which earned the acclaim of audiophiles around the
world. The YH-4000 feature an Orthodynamic™ driver redesigned and modernised
through advanced technologies.
Dynamics
The YH-4000 go beyond sheer power, faithfully preserving the contrast between
silence and movement in music. From the subtlest details to decisive bass
impacts, they offer a fast, precise response rich in detail.
Sound imaging
From the scale of concert halls to the intimacy of small clubs, the YH-4000
faithfully reproduce spatial detail and acoustic atmosphere. You can perceive
the position of each musician and even their smallest movements.
Magnesium body
The housing structure is made of magnesium, a metal known for its excellent
vibration-damping properties and high structural rigidity. Despite its
strength, the body remains light, at just 320 grams.
Handmade
From driver construction to final assembly, the YH-4000 require exceptional
technical skill and precision. For this reason they are produced at Yamaha's
Kakegawa factory, the same one that builds flagship grand pianos and audio
components.
