The compact WiiM streamer with an AKM DAC and upgraded analogue output
WiiM Pro Plus retains Pro's flexibility while directing its main upgrade towards digital-to-analogue conversion.
The single WiiM Pro Plus uses an AKM AK4493SEQ DAC and an analogue input capable of operation up to 24-bit/192 kHz. It is the version to consider when RCA feeds an amplifier or active speakers directly and the quality of the internal analogue stage matters to the system design.
Key features
- AKM AK4493SEQ converter
- DAC SNR up to 121 dB
- RCA input converted at up to 24-bit/192 kHz
- Optical input plus RCA, optical and coaxial outputs
- Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi
- AirPlay 2 and Google Cast, plus Spotify and TIDAL Connect
- Roon Ready and compatible with WiiM Voice Remote
What changes from WiiM Pro
The defining change is in the analogue path: Pro uses the TI PCM5121, whereas Pro Plus moves to the AK4493SEQ with stronger signal-to-noise and distortion specifications. Network functions remain familiar, so the upgrade is most relevant when Line Out RCA is used.
Digital when needed, analogue when preferred
Optical and coaxial can still bypass the internal DAC and send up to 24-bit/192 kHz to an external converter. Pro Plus can therefore serve as a complete source now and become a digital transport later if the rest of the system changes.
