VPI HW-16.5 macchina lavadischi

Semi-automatic vacuum record cleaning machine with a 35-second cycle per side

The HW-16.5 is a semi-automatic record cleaning machine: the fluid is spread with the supplied brush, then suction dries the record automatically. Washing and drying one side takes 35 seconds. VPI states that the record comes out dry and free of static, and that the treatment lifts old residue and hinders new deposits.

The platter is driven by a motor rated at 18 RPM with high torque, able to cope with the pressure of vigorous scrubbing even over long sessions. The redesigned suction tube aligns itself and adapts automatically to the thickness of the record, taking the fluid off the surface in a single pass. The fluid drawn off ends up in an internal stainless-steel collection system, chosen to resist corrosion. The fully closed construction avoids splashes and keeps the fluid away from the label; the points that touch the record have a protective coating and the user can replace them easily.
