Eleven processing channels and seven power amps for advanced home cinema
Anthem MRX740 8K is an 11.2-channel A/V receiver with seven amplified channels, up to 140 W per channel into 8 ohms on the main channels, HDMI 2.1 8K and ARC Genesis.
Compared with MRX540 it expands both processing and internal amplification, reaching 11.2 pre-amplifier channels and seven power-amplifier channels. The platform retains streaming, 32-bit/768 kHz conversion and network control while adding three HDMI outputs and Zone 2 for more flexible system management.

Eleven processed channels, seven amplified
MRX740 8K handles 11.2 pre-amplifier channels and incorporates seven power amps, so it can drive a multichannel system directly while external amplifiers handle additional channels. Output reaches 140 W per channel into 8 ohms on the main channels, with pre-outs available for expansion.
HDMI 2.1 and 8K video
Seven HDMI 2.1 inputs and three outputs handle 8K signals, HDCP 2.3, HDR, BT2020 and CEC. Anthem also specifies 8K/60 Hz and 4K/120 Hz pass-through for current-generation sources; HDMI ARC/eARC audio return remains distinct from ARC Genesis room correction.
Immersive formats
The processor decodes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X together with Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS Virtual:X and other platform formats. Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced combine multichannel audio management with high-dynamic-range video content.
ARC Genesis
ARC Genesis uses the professional microphone supplied in the kit to analyse loudspeaker behaviour in the room. Correction acts on system response and allows dedicated profiles to be stored, adapting calibration to different configurations and listening conditions.
Streaming, DAC and Zone 2
Bluetooth 4.2, AirPlay 2, Chromecast Audio, Spotify Connect, internet radio and Roon support complement the 32-bit/768 kHz Differential Output D/A converters. Zone 2 Multiroom allows a second source or audio system to be managed in another room.
Connections and control
There are five digital inputs, two coaxial and three optical, one optical output, six analogue RCA inputs and pre-outs. Control is available through the IP WebBrowser interface, RS-232, IR, iOS and Android app and remote control, with a front graphical OLED display.
