The Bison centre channel with twin 5.25-inch woofers and 90 dB sensitivity
Totem Bison Center is a two-way bass-reflex centre channel using two 5.25-inch woofers and a 1.3-inch textile tweeter.
It is designed to preserve the Bison family character in the channel most responsible for dialogue and front-stage continuity. Its 90 dB sensitivity is higher than Bison Monitor, while the nominal 6-ohm load offers a useful balance between amplifier compatibility and dynamic capability.
Key features
- Two-way bass-reflex centre channel.
- 2 proprietary 5.25-inch woofers.
- High-frequency section using a 1.3-inch laser-etched textile tweeter.
- Specified frequency response of 42 Hz-21 kHz ±3 dB.
- 90 dB sensitivity and 6-ohm nominal impedance.
- Amplifier power is specified between 30 and 150 W.
- 2.5 kHz crossover with first-order slope.
- Terminals supporting bi-wiring.
Twin woofers for the front centre
The horizontal layout places two drivers around the tweeter to increase radiating area and dynamic headroom. Cabinet width is about 57.5 cm, allowing installation below a screen without reaching the scale of many larger three-way centre speakers.
Matched to Tower and Monitor
Bison Center shares driver family and construction philosophy with the stereo Bison models. It is therefore the natural partner for Tower, Twin Tower or Monitor in a cinema system, particularly where tonal consistency across the front stage is important during lateral effects and dialogue movement.
System matching
With 90 dB sensitivity it does not demand extreme power, although a stable amplifier channel into 6 ohms remains worthwhile. It suits small and medium cinema rooms where the centre speaker must retain clarity and dynamic capacity without becoming physically dominant. Lock-miter construction, internal bracing and borosilicate damping follow the same approach as the other Bison models, so the centre channel is not a simplified accessory but a loudspeaker designed to comparable structural standards.
