Rega Ania Pro is an MC cartridge with Vital nude diamond stylus, tapered aluminium cantilever, hand-wound micro-coil generator and rigid PPS body.
Ania Pro evolves the Ania design by introducing a Vital nude diamond stylus, chosen to increase the amount of information read from the record surface. The generator uses the same micro-coil architecture as Rega's MC range, with a hand-wound coil on an iron micro-cross and a high-power neodymium magnet. The glass-filled PPS body incorporates Rega three-point mounting and is protected by a rigid red cover during installation.

Vital stylus
The Vital nude diamond profile offers a more refined contact surface than a conventional elliptical stylus and follows the smallest groove modulations with greater precision. The diamond is mounted on a tapered aluminium cantilever, keeping moving mass low and transferring stylus movement to the generator quickly and in a controlled manner. The aim is to increase detail retrieval without upsetting the overall balance of the response.
Generator and body
The coil is hand wound on an iron micro-cross and works with a high-power neodymium magnet. The generator is designed to keep moving mass very low, while the glass-fibre-reinforced PPS body provides the geometric precision needed for the pivot system and mounting. The rigid cover protects the fine internal wires when the cartridge is installed or removed from the tonearm.
Mounting and protection
Rega three-point mounting creates a stable connection to the tonearm headshell and, on compatible models, automatically sets the overhang intended by the design. The PPS body is produced to very tight tolerances because alignment between pivot and magnetic system is crucial to correct MC-generator operation. The rigid red cover reduces the risk of damaging the conductors during handling.
Operating parameters
Ania Pro has a nominal output of 350 microvolts, load impedance of 100 ohms and specified capacitance of 1000 pF. Tracking force is between 1.75 and 2.00 g and mass is 6 g. Its output level requires a low-noise MC phono stage with sufficient gain and settings matched to the cartridge's electrical values.
