The single Bowers & Wilkins DB1D is an active subwoofer with two 300 mm drivers mounted on opposite sides and a 2000 W digital amplifier. Control and signal
Dynamic EQ works in the digital preamplifier and settings are made through an app using Bluetooth LE control. Connections include two XLR and two RCA inputs, two 12 V triggers and a 9-pin RS-232 port. Bluetooth LE here is for control, not music streaming. Plan the space
At 460 mm high, 429 mm wide and 410 mm deep, the DB1D needs clear space at the sides where the drivers sit. A 43 kg weight matters for moving and supporting it. The sealed enclosure has no reflex vent to clear, but wiring and the opposed cones still need room. Plan signal and trigger cable routes before choosing the position.
The listed response is 10-350 Hz at -3 dB relative to 100 Hz; its -6 dB range spans 8.5-500 Hz. Those tolerances are not a promise of identical in-room extension. DB2D uses two 250 mm cones in a 430 × 377 × 360 mm body; DB3D steps down to 200 mm and 360 × 320 × 300 mm. Choose DB1D when the larger format fits the intended system. In particular, the side-mounted cones mean 429 mm cabinet width is not the only placement allowance: keep the adjacent area clear. A 12 V trigger can coordinate power with other equipment, while RS-232 provides a control route for an integrated installation. Its 2000 W amplifier rating is stated on the product page; do not transfer that figure to DB2D or DB3D. Its larger 300 mm drivers and 43 kg mass distinguish this cabinet physically, even where the published response limits resemble smaller DB units.
