The headphone that joins the Sonos system
Sonos Ace Ultra is a wireless headphone with adaptive noise cancellation, 40 mm drivers, ten microphones, Bluetooth 6.0, Wi-Fi, lossless and spatial audio with Dolby Atmos and up to 35 hours of battery life.
Ace Ultra sits alongside Sonos Ace with longer battery life, more microphones and a closer link with the speakers at home. Outdoors it works over Bluetooth like any headphone; at home, at the press of a button, it takes the music or the TV audio from Sonos products and hands it back. It is available in black and Soft White, in a matte finish.

Sound
Each ear cup houses a 40 mm driver developed by Sonos. Adaptive equalisation corrects the response according to how the headphone fits; in the Sonos app, bass, mids and treble are adjusted with a 3 or 8 band equaliser and Loudness is switched on or off. With compatible devices and content, Ace Ultra plays spatial audio and lossless audio, over Bluetooth with Qualcomm aptX or over USB-C.
Noise control
Ten microphones analyse the surroundings and adaptive cancellation filters noise in real time. Aware mode lets outside sounds through together with the music and, with voice boost, brings voices forward. The button on the right ear cup switches between the two modes and, when held down, calls up the voice assistant. On calls, Sidetone returns the wearer's own voice naturally.
Headphone link
The Content Key moves music between the headphone and compatible Sonos speakers: one press brings what is playing at home to the headphone, another sends it back to the speakers. At home the headphone is controlled from the Sonos app and receives music over Wi-Fi from streaming services. Sonos describes this function as available in early access and subject to change; it requires a compatible Sonos speaker, Wi-Fi and the Sonos app.
TV audio
With the same key, the TV audio moves from a compatible Sonos soundbar to the headphone, Dolby Atmos included. TrueCinema tunes the result to the room and the soundbar, and head tracking, to be switched on in the app, keeps sounds in their place.
Battery and controls
The 1,060 mAh battery reaches 35 hours with noise cancellation or Aware on. Starting from zero, three minutes of charging give up to three hours of listening; a full charge can take three hours. The button on the left ear cup switches the headphone on, starts Bluetooth pairing and, with two presses, moves from one source to the other. Sensors stop the music when the headphone is taken off and restart it when it is put back on. Weight: 322 grams.
Included accessories
Ace Ultra comes with the travel case, which has a removable pouch for the cables, a 0.75 m USB-C to USB-C cable and a 1.2 m USB-C to 3.5 mm jack cable. A compatible USB-C power adapter is needed for charging.
