Rectangular in-wall speaker with a 6.5" Kevlar / Nomex woofer
The Sonance VX66 is a rectangular speaker from the Visual Experience series, built for wall installation, with a 6.5" woofer in Kevlar / Nomex and a ceramic dome tweeter. Sold as a pair.
It mounts in a rectangular wall opening and ships with a white Micro Trim grille. It uses the Sonance CDX crossover, which the maker says keeps warmth and detail whatever the volume, together with a waveguide developed to widen coverage and make listening consistent.
Key features
- 1" tweeter (25 mm) using a ceramic dome, cooled by Ferrofluid, with a rear acoustic chamber
- 6.5" woofer (165 mm): cone in Kevlar / Nomex, surround in rubber
- Frequency response from 43 Hz to 20 kHz (+/- 3 dB)
- Power handling between 5 and 140 watts RMS
- Sensitivity of 90 dB (2.83 V at 1 m)
- Dispersion handled by the Sinusoidal Textured Waveguide
Installation
The cut-out measures 176 x 273 mm and the mounting depth is 88 mm. The Visual Experience series allows either the standard single-stage installation or an optional two-stage one: with the latter, cabling and space reservation are done ahead of construction, and the job ends by snapping the speaker module into place.

The supplied grille is a Micro Trim in satin Brilliant White. The grille styles of the Visual Experience series include Micro Trim and Trimless.
