An ultra-compact two-way hi-fi speaker, sold as a pair: 16 cm tall, with a rear reflex port, a silk tweeter and a 3 inch glass-fibre woofer, intended for desktops, small rooms and home cinema.
Speaker Box 3 E: the design
When space is tight, people often end up with a soundbar or a single Bluetooth speaker, neither of which gives a true stereo image. The Speaker Box 3 E is for those who would rather keep one: two separate boxes, small enough to sit either side of a monitor or on a shelf.
It is a two-way design with the reflex port on the back panel. The tweeter is a 0.75 inch silk dome, the 3 inch mid-woofer has a glass-fibre diaphragm, and the enclosure is MDF. Stated response runs from 89 Hz to 20 kHz: enough for voices and instruments, though in a video system a subwoofer is worth planning for the lowest octaves.
Impedance is 4 ohms and sensitivity 85 dB; you need at least 10 W a channel, and Pro-Ject names the Stereo Box S3 BT and the MaiA S3 as natural matches. The gold-plated terminals take banana plugs, magnetic grilles are in the box, and wall brackets are bought separately. Offered in several finishes.
