A belt-drive turntable with an acrylic plinth, a magnetically suspended Corian sub-chassis and the EVO 9 CC carbon arm. It offers RCA and 5-pin mini XLR outputs for True Balanced use, with the cartridge chosen separately.
6-PERSPEX Balanced: what lies beneath the platter
The acrylic plinth rests on three TPE-damped aluminium cones, each with its own height adjustment, and supports both motor and sub-chassis. The latter, in Corian, does not hang on springs: it floats on three magnetic fields, an approach that avoids the stray noise typical of conventional suspensions and keeps platter and arm isolated from everything else. The AC motor acts through the belt on the outer rim of the platter and is run by an electronic generator that steadies rotation and changes speed without moving the belt.
The platter is 300 mm across and is a sandwich of acoustically dead MDF with a vinyl layer on the surface, the material closest to the record itself. It turns on an inverted stainless steel spindle with a ceramic ball. A record clamp comes with the turntable.
The EVO 9 CC arm has a carbon tube and an inverted cardan pivot on four steel points with ABEC 7 grade races, stable and low in friction. The all-aluminium base lets you set azimuth and VTA, and the set of counterweights covers cartridges from 5 to 14 g. An RCA Connect it Phono E lead is supplied; the mini XLR output, with a balanced lead and a stage such as the Tube Box DS3 B or the S3 B and DS3 B Phono Boxes, allows a link that cancels interference collected along the way.
