Stereo preamplifier and headphone amplifier with VOLTAiR technology, jack and XLR headphone outputs with 2 × 8 W and VU meters.
Phonitor X: the design
The Phonitor X works as a preamplifier for power amplifiers or active speakers and as an amplifier for standard and balanced headphones. Two analogue inputs, XLR and RCA, and XLR and RCA outputs. There are the Matrix effect, channel balance and a stereo/mono switch; the VU meters show the level of both channels.
Like the other SPL components it uses VOLTAiR technology: the audio circuits run on ±60 V rails, with discrete op-amps of SPL's own design and a shielded toroidal transformer.
