7.1.4 processing, Dirac Live and 4K HDMI for the heart of a home cinema system
Rotel RSP-1576 MKII is a 7.1.4 A/V processor with Dolby Atmos®, DTS:X®, Dirac Live Full, seven HDMI inputs and conversion handled by six 24-bit/192 kHz Wolfson DACs.
The processor separates processing from amplification, leaving external power amplifiers to drive the loudspeakers. A quad-core Texas Instruments DSP handles decoding and bass management, Dirac Live Full corrects in-room response and the HDMI 2.0b section supports 4K/HDR signals, while analogue inputs, MM phono and Bluetooth complete source management.

7.1.4 and immersive formats
RSP-1576 MKII handles configurations up to 7.1.4 channels and decodes Dolby Atmos® and DTS:X®, as well as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio lossless formats. Preamplifier outputs leave the choice of external power amplifiers completely open.
Dirac Live Full
Dirac Live Full measures the system response in the room and calculates wide-band correction filters. The processor acts on levels, distances, frequency response and the room's time-domain behaviour.
4K HDMI and HDR
Seven inputs and two HDMI outputs use HDMI 2.0b with HDCP 2.2 and support 4K/60 Hz video and HDR10. ARC returns audio from the television, while the HDMI matrix centralises consoles, players and video sources without separating the audio path from the picture.
DSP and Wolfson DACs
Processing is handled by a quad-core Texas Instruments DSP, while six 24-bit/192 kHz Wolfson DACs convert the analogue channels. Separating digital processing and conversion allows bass management, immersive formats and room correction to run simultaneously while retaining dedicated analogue outputs for the power amplifiers.
Analogue inputs and phono
Alongside HDMI sources there are analogue inputs, optical and coaxial digital inputs and an MM phono stage. A turntable can therefore enter the processor directly and share the same zone and volume management without requiring a separate stereo preamplifier.
Bluetooth and digital sources
Bluetooth with aptX allows wireless playback from compatible devices, while traditional digital inputs handle non-HDMI audio sources. The processor can therefore remain the centre of a music system as well as a multichannel cinema system.
Outputs and integration
Multichannel preamplifier outputs feed external power amplifiers and active subwoofers. RS232, Ethernet and 12 V triggers coordinate power and control with automation systems, an important feature when electronics and amplifiers are installed in a technical rack.
Chassis and performance
The chassis measures 431 x 144 x 348 mm and weighs 8.8 kg. Declared THD falls to 0.0006% in analogue bypass and signal-to-noise ratio reaches 112 dB, figures that accompany a platform designed for both cinema and high-quality multichannel listening.
