From analogue to digital
Rega Fono Mini A2D MK2 is an MM phono stage of compact size with USB output, designed to amplify moving-magnet cartridges and transfer vinyl records to a computer.
Fono Mini A2D MK2 combines a dedicated MM phono stage with a USB interface for analogue-to-digital conversion. The circuit derives from the Fono MM design and is housed in a compact Rega-developed enclosure. It can be connected to any moving-magnet cartridge and provides adjustable level control to optimise the signal during recording to a computer, while keeping the normal analogue path to the amplifier separate.

MM phono stage
The phono section is designed for the typical output level of moving-magnet cartridges and provides the amplification and equalisation required before an amplifier's line input. The design adopts solutions from Fono MM and maintains a simple structure dedicated to vinyl playback. Fono Mini A2D MK2 can therefore be used both as a conventional phono stage between turntable and amplifier and as an interface for digitising the analogue source.
Vinyl transfer via USB
The USB interface allows the signal from the record to be sent to a computer and saved as a digital file using audio-recording software. The Level control on the front panel adjusts level before conversion, helping to avoid recordings that are too low or overloaded. USB conversion operates at 16 bit with a 44.1 kHz sample rate and supports up to 48 kHz.
Everyday use
The compact dimensions make it easy to place Fono Mini A2D MK2 close to the turntable or amplifier. The analogue connection allows listening through a standard line input, while the USB port adds the ability to archive records, create digital copies or carry out basic editing on a computer. Level adjustment is particularly useful when different records have very different cutting levels, making each transfer easier to set correctly.
