A 10" woofer for system bass
The single Signature Elite ES10 Subwoofer completes a stereo or home cinema system.
The single Polk Audio Signature Elite ES10 powered subwoofer uses a forward-facing long-throw 10" mineral-filled polypropylene woofer. It sits between the 8" ES8 and 12" ES12, suited to medium-sized stereo or home cinema systems needing a separate bass channel from the main speakers. Amplification is built in.
An RCA LFE input receives the AV receiver signal; two line-level RCA inputs accept a compatible stereo source. The vented cabinet contains two internal Power Ports. Its forward-facing driver and outlets help with furniture placement, while still requiring room for the mains socket and signal cables.

Adjustable bass and clearly defined figures
The stated -3 dB response is 28-250 Hz; extension to 22 Hz is specified at -10 dB. A low-pass filter adjustable from 50 to 160 Hz and 45-degree phase steps help it blend with the speakers. Time-Smart Phase Control and 32-bit DSP are features of this model, along with signal-sensing power-save mode.
Compared with the ES8, the larger cone and dual Power Ports require a taller and deeper enclosure. The ES12 moves to 12" for larger systems. Before choosing the final position, compare locations with dialogue, music and low-frequency film effects: the sub level should blend in rather than simply be turned up.
Room response changes with placement. Even modest moves of the subwoofer can alter bass at the main seat, so test more than one position before setting crossover, level and phase permanently.
