Reserve R100: the compact entry to the range
The pair of bookshelf speakers suits stereo and surround use where space is limited.
The pair of Polk Audio Reserve R100 speakers brings the Reserve range to sturdy shelves or dedicated stands. Each cabinet uses a 1" Pinnacle Ring Radiator tweeter and a 5.25" Turbine Cone woofer: a two-way arrangement suited to a compact front pair or rear channels in a matching Reserve system.
Each speaker measures 166 x 324 x 259.5 mm, so check the available depth and allow room behind the rear port. Compared with the R200, its smaller driver and cabinet make it easier to accommodate where a 6.5" bookshelf speaker would be too large.

Small cabinet, several roles
The rear X-Port uses resonators to reduce unwanted port noise. Single five-way binding posts provide the connection to an amplifier or AV receiver; there is no built-in amplification or line-level input. The stated overall response is 44 Hz-50 kHz, with -3 dB limits of 58 Hz-39 kHz.
Polk recommends 30 to 150 W of amplifier power and specifies 86 dB sensitivity. In a cinema system the pair can form a compact front stage or serve as surrounds, with a subwoofer handling the lowest soundtrack effects.
Shelf or stand placement also changes listening height. Aim to keep the tweeter near ear level at the main seat, and check that the support is stable enough for each cabinet and its cables.
