Philips OLED911: 4K OLED TV with Ambilight and Bowers & Wilkins sound
The OLED911 is the Philips OLED+ television that brings three things together: a very bright 4K Tandem WOLED panel, Ambilight on all four sides and a built-in sound system by Bowers & Wilkins. It comes in four sizes, from 48 to 77 inches, all with the same features.
Picture
The Tandem WOLED panel has a resolution of 3840 × 2160 pixels and a high peak brightness, which helps both in dark scenes and in a well-lit room. Processing is handled by the P5 AI engine, which works on detail, contrast, colour and motion according to what is on screen. Dolby Vision 2 Max, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG are supported; for a calibrated picture the set is Calman AutoCal ready and also allows manual calibration.
Four-sided Ambilight
LEDs on the back throw a glow onto the wall, all around the screen, that follows the colours of the picture or the rhythm of the music. It works best with the television hung on the wall. With AmbiScape the effect reaches the smart bulbs in the room, which sync with what is playing on screen.
Bowers & Wilkins sound
The sound system is a 3.1 design with 81 W in total: speakers that face the viewer, a centre channel for dialogue and a rear subwoofer for the low frequencies. It decodes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. If you already own an audio system, you can connect it through eARC, on the HDMI 3 input.
Gaming and connections
There are four HDMI inputs, two of them full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 (48 Gbps). Variable refresh rate goes up to 165 Hz and works with AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync; you also get auto low latency mode (ALLM), Dolby Vision for games and Game Bar 2.0 for quick adjustments. The set also has two USB ports, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ax, Bluetooth 5.4 and Apple AirPlay support.
Smart TV and connected home
The operating system is Titan OS, with the main streaming apps already on board. The television works with Matter, Control4, Google Home and Amazon Alexa; the remote has a microphone for voice commands and charges wirelessly. The tuner receives terrestrial DVB-T2, cable and satellite (DVB-S2) broadcasts.
