A passive three-way bass-reflex floorstander sold as a pair: two 215 mm X-PAL woofers take the on-axis response down to 24 Hz, with a Truextent beryllium midrange and tweeter. Made for large rooms and amplifiers of up to 500 W.
Persona 7F: drive units and cabinet
Compared with the models that use 178 mm woofers, the Persona 7F moves to two 215 mm units with very long-throw X-PAL aluminium cones. Each woofer has a Differential Drive motor, a 38 mm high-temperature dual voice coil and an overmoulded ART surround. The figures show the result: on-axis response within ±2 dB from as low as 24 Hz up to 45 kHz, with bass extension to 18 Hz, and no powered section.
From 450 Hz upwards the 178 mm Truextent beryllium midrange is at work, with its Inverse Differential Drive neodymium motor, and above 2.4 kHz the ferrofluid-damped 25 mm beryllium dome; both have the perforated PPA lens and third-order filters. Midrange and woofers are fitted through the Shock-Mount system, which decouples them from a cabinet engineered not to resonate. Design, construction and finishing are carried out at the Paradigm factory in Canada.
Sensitivity is 92 dB in room (89 dB anechoic) and the load suits 8 ohm amplifiers. Paradigm suggests amplifiers of 15 to 500 W and a maximum power input of 350 W. Size needs checking before purchase: 132 cm tall, 30 cm wide and 52 cm deep, at 65 kg per speaker.
