A complete garden audio system: eight two-way satellites with their stakes, one buried 203 mm subwoofer and twenty waterproof connectors. Only speaker cable and amplification remain to be added.
GO Essentials System: what it includes
The GO Essentials System gathers in one box what is needed to bring sound to an outdoor space of up to roughly 280 m². The satellites are set around the perimeter, aimed towards the listeners, and the subwoofer is buried: many sources playing at moderate volume cover the area evenly, with no overly loud or silent patches, blend more easily into the planting and trouble the neighbours less than a few speakers driven hard.
Each satellite carries a 100 mm woofer in polypropylene loaded with minerals, on an NBR rubber surround, and a 19 mm X-PAL tweeter cooled by ferrofluid. The tweeter sits in a RED mount, uneven at the edges and placed away from the centre, which avoids standing waves and gives a cleaner midrange; together with the satellites' broad dispersion it helps clarity across the whole area. The subwoofer has a long-throw 203 mm polypropylene and mica woofer in an HDPE enclosure, leaving on show only the mushroom hood that spreads the bass and shields the driver. The satellites are rated IP54, the subwoofer IP58.
No special amplifiers are called for: an AV receiver with a second-zone output is enough, while a dedicated power amplifier gives extra headroom. Stakes and satellite bodies go together by hand; finishing the job takes a shovel and a wire stripper. Paradigm advises wiring the satellites in a daisy chain 2.4-3 m from one another and putting the subwoofer as near the middle as possible; moving it close to a wall or another solid surface strengthens the lowest frequencies. Overall the system responds between 47 Hz and 20 kHz within ±4 dB.
