Three hundred and thirty watts without separate boxes
800.2 is a 2x330 W dual-mono integrated amplifier with Nuvistors, HT bypass and 3 kVA of transformer capacity.
Nu-Vista 800.2 is for listeners wanting separate-component scale while retaining source control, volume and power in one product. It delivers 330 W per channel into 8 ohms and 500 W into 4; two 1.5 kVA transformers feed separated channels and sections. Four RCA and one XLR input serve analogue sources, while HT bypass integrates front speakers into cinema. Nuvistors handle the low-level signal and the large transistor stage supplies speaker current.
Key features
- 2x330 W into 8 ohms, 2x500 W into 4 ohms
- Dual mono with two 1.5 kVA transformers
- Four RCA and one XLR input
- HT bypass, line out and pre out
- 41 kg weight and twin terminals
When 600.2 is not enough
The advantage appears with large towers, severe impedance minima and substantial distance. This is more than 170 additional watts: supply and cooling sustain simultaneous peaks without an external amplifier. In a small room with efficient speakers, 600.2 remains better proportioned.
Plan it like a power amplifier
Forty-one kilograms, heat and inrush current require a strong shelf, open air and suitable mains. Twin terminals help bi-wiring but do not double power. Cables and speakers must tolerate the available reserve.
Stereo and home cinema
HT bypass gives an AV processor control of front-channel level, avoiding a second speaker pair. Returning to music restores the amplifier's own sources and volume. This system function requires careful configuration to prevent uncontrolled levels.
External source front end
Like 600.2 it has no network, DAC or phono section. Nu-Vista DAC and Vinyl 2 form a coherent system but are not compulsory. Modularity matters when conversion should evolve without replacing a long-lived amplifier.
Integrated versus PRE and PAS
PRE plus PAS physically separate supply and control and provide more inputs; 800.2 reduces chassis and cables with comparable power for many systems. The decision depends on space, modularity and actual load rather than automatic hierarchy. The price step makes sense when it genuinely replaces separate pre/power components or solves a difficult load. Easy speakers at low level remain possible, but do not exploit the supply, cooling and current that define the design. For Nu-Vista 800.2, dimensions, weight, ventilation, connections and system capacity should be checked as one project, leaving operating margin instead of using every specification at its limit.
