600.2 is a 2x160 W dual-mono integrated amplifier with six analogue inputs and Nuvistor stages.
Nu-Vista 600.2 brings Musical Fidelity's flagship technology to an integrated amplifier without separating pre and power stages. It delivers 160 W per channel into 8 ohms and 300 W into 4 through dual-mono sections, twin transformers and distinct pre/power circuitry. Four RCA and two XLR inputs accept analogue sources; fixed and variable outputs support recording, subwoofers or expansion. It is for a powerful high-end system still contained in one 36 kg chassis.

What a Nuvistor is
Nuvistors are miniature valves developed late in the valve era inside a rigid metal shell, with smaller size, lower microphony and lower noise than many conventional tubes. Musical Fidelity uses them in low-level stages for linear valve behaviour, while transistors provide loudspeaker current. They are not output valves and cannot explain the sound alone: supply, layout and power stage remain decisive.
One hundred and sixty watts chosen for control
Growth to 300 W into 4 ohms shows useful reserve with towers and changing loads. 600.2 does not chase the extreme figure of 800.2, but covers medium-large rooms and serious speakers with less weight and cost. Headroom serves transients rather than demanding high volume.
Analogue only by design
There is no DAC, streaming or phono stage. Digital sources enter through an external DAC, while Vinyl S or Vinyl 2 handles records. This separation prevents rapidly changing platforms defining amplifier life, though it requires more equipment.
Outputs allow growth
Variable output can feed subwoofers or another amplifier; fixed output serves a recorder. Twin terminals facilitate bi-wiring without turning it into bi-amping. The OLED also displays VU meters, while the aluminium remote controls the system from the listening seat.
When to move to 800.2
Exceptionally demanding speakers, a very large room or HT bypass needs favour 800.2. 600.2 retains the same range logic at a more rational scale. It is flagship construction, not a small amplifier in ordinary terms. Budget must include an external DAC or phono stage and furniture rated for 36 kg. When those conditions are already planned, 600.2 becomes a stable anchor around which sources and loudspeakers can evolve.
