Two-channel hi-fi with six HDMI inputs for the whole lounge
STEREO 70s combines 2.2 channels at 75 W, six 8K HDMI inputs, HEOS, MM phono and FM radio in a slim chassis.
STEREO 70s is for listeners who do not want surround speakers but need television, consoles and music sources connected to a genuine two-channel system. Its 75 W channels drive one stereo pair and two sub outputs permit 2.1 or 2.2. Six HDMI inputs, three supporting 8K, route video to the display and receive ARC. HEOS covers streaming and multiroom use; MM phono, digital inputs and FM radio avoid a collection of small boxes.
Key features
- 2.2 channels, 75 W per channel
- Six HDMI inputs, three 8K, ARC output
- HEOS built in and high-resolution audio
- MM phono, optical and coaxial inputs
- Custom HDAM and FM radio
Stereo rather than reduced cinema
It does not decode a multichannel speaker system or provide rear channels. Power and interface focus on left and right, with subwoofers extending bass. It suits music and television where dialogue and effects remain on a correctly positioned stereo front.
HDMI changes daily use
Video sources enter the Marantz and one cable reaches the television. ARC returns app audio and HDMI-CEC may coordinate compatible controls. Three ports support 8K, so allocation matters with several current-generation consoles.
HEOS and traditional sources
HEOS brings online services, local network music and other rooms into the app. An MM turntable connects directly, while optical and coaxial serve digital transports. The tuner is FM.
Seventy-five watts in a slim chassis
Output exceeds the 50 W per channel of CINEMA 70s S2 because there are only two channels. That is not universal speaker compatibility: impedance, sensitivity and room still matter. Sub outputs reduce low-frequency demand when crossover and level are correctly set.
The choice against MODEL M1
MODEL M1 is far smaller, delivers 100 W, and includes eARC and HEOS, but has fewer physical inputs. STEREO 70s favours many sources, phono and an HDMI matrix; M1 favours simplicity, compact power and discreet installation.
