CINEMA 30: a complete theatre without separating everything
An 11.4-channel, 140-watt AV receiver with 13.4 processing, seven 8K HDMI inputs, HEOS and four independent subwoofers.
CINEMA 30 is Marantz's flagship AV receiver, combining video control, immersive decoding and eleven power-amplifier channels in one chassis. It is intended for a large, refined cinema where the owner prefers not to install the rack required by separate processors and power amplifiers.
Key features
- 11.4 amplified channels at 140 watts
- processing for up to 13.4 channels
- seven 8K-compatible HDMI inputs
- Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro and AURO-3D
- four independent subwoofer outputs
- HEOS, Audyssey MultEQ XT32 and optional Dirac Live
Eleven power stages already installed
A 7.4.4 layout can be driven without an external amplifier. The 140-watt channels and symmetrical monolithic construction aim to preserve control and consistency in demanding passages. Because processing extends to 13.4, two extra channels can still be added later through separate amplification.
Four subwoofers treated as four positions
Independent bass outputs allow subwoofers in different locations to be measured and adjusted individually. In a large room this helps distribute energy and reduce seat-to-seat variation. The facility matters more than the socket count and still depends on careful measurement and placement.
8K pictures and three-dimensional sound
Seven HDMI inputs handle current sources and eARC returns television audio. Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro and AURO-3D cover soundtracks and upmixing. HEOS supplies network music and multiroom playback, so CINEMA 30 remains useful when the screen is switched off.
When AMP 30 becomes useful
Pre-outs allow demanding loudspeakers or additional channels to move onto an external amplifier. AMP 30, with six 200-watt stages, can relieve the front channels, bi-amp them or complete a layout beyond eleven channels. Expansion can therefore happen in stages without replacing the receiver.
CINEMA 30 or AV 30
Both address 11.4-channel systems but solve opposite priorities. CINEMA 30 includes amplification and simplifies installation; AV 30 removes internal power stages and supplies balanced outputs for a modular chain. Moving to AV 20 or AV 10 adds processing channels and design freedom, together with greater rack space and cost. The final choice depends on the upgrade route. If eleven internal amplifiers are enough, it reduces space and complexity; if balanced wiring, a remote rack and multiple power amplifiers are planned immediately, AV 30 is the more coherent foundation.
