SACD 30n: a choice built around the system
SACD 30n connects sources, listening priorities and space through a coherent configuration.
SACD 30n is a Marantz premium SACD and network player designed for a defined stereo role. Configuration, sources and loudspeakers should be chosen together: its value lies not in a feature count alone, but in the way it simplifies or specialises the system.
Key features
- SACD, CD and data discs
- HEOS, Wi-Fi, AirPlay and Bluetooth
- Marantz Musical Mastering DAC
- USB-B, optical and coaxial inputs
- fixed and variable outputs
One player for discs, files and network
SACD 30n combines an SACD/CD mechanism, HEOS streamer and DAC for external sources. It serves a collection spanning physical media and file-based music without forcing a choice between two boxes. Its analogue output can feed an integrated amplifier or, at variable level, a power amplifier.
What Super Audio CD changes
It reads SACD as well as CD and data discs, with response stated to 50 kHz from the high-resolution format. Marantz Musical Mastering handles conversion and filtering, while HDAM modules serve the analogue output. This advantage matters to an owner of SACDs, rather than someone playing ordinary compact discs alone.
HEOS completes the library
The app brings together online services, internet radio and network libraries, while AirPlay and Bluetooth provide immediate routes. High-resolution files also arrive over USB. The player can therefore become the central source, leaving an amplifier solely responsible for driving loudspeakers.
A DAC for computers and transports
Asynchronous USB-B connects a computer, with optical and coaxial inputs for digital transports. Digital outputs provide the reverse path to an external converter. This two-way flexibility keeps the disc mechanism useful as surrounding sources evolve.
Why not CD 50n
CD 50n costs less, adds HDMI ARC and covers CD, network and television. SACD 30n moves upwards through SACD compatibility, its analogue stage and Musical Mastering architecture. It has no HDMI, making it an audio specialist rather than the most direct television connection.
The check before purchase
Before choosing SACD 30n, confirm that SACD, CD and data discs, HEOS, Wi-Fi, AirPlay and Bluetooth, plus the Marantz Musical Mastering DAC, genuinely match the system priorities. That combination, alongside available inputs and shelf space, separates it from nearby alternatives: an unused feature cannot compensate for an unsuitable match. Its specialist design rewards a carefully planned system.
