A KEF icon evolved with Meta technology
The KEF LS50 Meta are 2-way bass-reflex standmount speakers designed to offer refined, precise and engaging listening in quality home environments. A direct evolution of the iconic LS50, this version introduces Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MAT), a solution developed to absorb extremely effectively the unwanted waves coming from the rear of the tweeter. The result is cleaner, more transparent and better focused reproduction, able to bring out music, voices and details with great naturalness.
Sonic coherence and a wide soundstage with Uni-Q
At the centre of the design is the twelfth-generation Uni-Q driver, with a 25 mm vented aluminium tweeter placed at the acoustic centre of the 130 mm mid/woofer cone in aluminium. This configuration allows more even dispersion and a more credible soundstage, with a wide listening position and consistent sound throughout the room. The LS50 Meta are intended for those who want a compact speaker that can still deliver a precise stereo image, micro-detail and a controlled, elegant and modern tonal character.
Hi-fi performance for high-level stereo systems
With a sensitivity of 85 dB, a nominal impedance of 8 ohms and a recommended amplifier power of between 40 and 100 watts, the KEF LS50 Meta are ideal for carefully matched stereo systems. The declared frequency response is 79 Hz – 28 kHz (±3 dB), with a range extending to 47 Hz – 45 kHz, while the maximum output level reaches 106 dB. The curved, rigidly braced cabinet also helps to reduce resonances, improving the control, precision and cleanness of the sound.
