The KEF Ci160RR-THX is a high-performance architectural speaker designed for discreet in-ceiling or in-wall installations. Part of the Ci-R Series range, it incorporates KEF's signature Uni-Q technology, with a 25 mm tweeter positioned at the acoustic centre of the 165 mm woofer. This configuration distributes sound more evenly in the room, offering a natural, precise and coherent soundstage even from different listening positions.
Certified performance for advanced home theatres
The KEF Ci160RR-THX is THX® Ultra certified, a guarantee of high performance for custom home theatre systems. It is designed to maintain high sound quality even at substantial sound pressure levels, making it ideal for surround configurations, effects channels, multichannel systems and installations integrated into living spaces or private cinema rooms. The frequency response from 52 Hz to 24 kHz in an open-backed configuration and the range extending up to 30 kHz allow detailed, dynamic and well-balanced reproduction.
Uni-Q technology and simplified installation
The Uni-Q system of the Ci160RR-THX allows the speaker to behave as a more homogeneous sound source, widening the sweet spot and improving the distribution of sound in the room. The Universal Cut-out system keeps the same opening as the other KEF 160 mm speakers, simplifying the choice of components and integration into custom projects. With a nominal impedance of 4 Ohm, a sensitivity of 90 dB and recommended power from 10 to 190 W, the speaker suits high-level home theatre installations and integrated audio systems.
Discreet design, IP64 protection and great versatility
The KEF Ci160RR-THX combines high performance and architectural integration. The round flush-mount format allows a clean fit into ceilings and walls, while the IP64 rating offers protection against dust and water splashes, extending the installation options. To meet the THX Certified Ultra distortion specifications, KEF recommends installation with a rear volume of 3 litres and setting the speaker to “small” in the AV processor.
