The KEF Ci3-80QT is a three-way motorised in-ceiling loudspeaker designed to disappear completely flush with the ceiling when not in use. Sold singly, it belongs to the KEF Ci Motorised series and is the ideal solution for fully automated Home Theatre systems — in particular when paired with motorised screens — and for discreet installations in meeting rooms and professional environments. At a simple touch of the remote control, the loudspeaker descends silently into position to deliver a wide soundstage and a solid, stable stereo image.
Three-way Uni-Q® driver: reference audio quality from the ceiling
The Ci3-80QT is fitted with a three-way in-ceiling Uni-Q® array made up of two 75 mm woofers, a 75 mm midrange and a 15 mm tweeter, with crossover frequencies at 300 Hz and 3 kHz. The Uni-Q configuration ensures wide and even downward sound dispersion, providing consistent coverage throughout the room regardless of listening position.
The frequency response extends from 87 Hz to 27 kHz (±6 dB, with back can/rear enclosure), with a sensitivity of 87 dB and compatibility with amplifiers from 10 to 100 W into 8 Ω, making it suitable for AV processors and multi-zone amplifiers of any level.
Silent motorisation for fully automated systems
The distinctive feature of the Ci3-80QT is its silent motorisation mechanism: at rest the loudspeaker is completely flush with the ceiling, invisible and unobtrusive. When called upon by the control system or the remote control, it descends silently into the operating position. This functionality makes it perfect for advanced home automation integrations, where aesthetics and automation must coexist without compromise. Flexible and discreet ceiling installation
With external dimensions of 128 × 377 mm and a mounting depth of 120 mm, the Ci3-80QT suits ceilings with a thickness from 6 to 20 mm. The required cut-out is 112 × 354 mm. Use with a back can or rear enclosure is recommended to obtain the optimum frequency response and acoustic isolation from the ceiling void.

The Ci3-80QT is designed to be integrated into fully automated multichannel Home Theatre systems, paired with motorised screens, projectors and KNX, Control4, Crestron or similar control systems. Paired with other loudspeakers from the KEF Ci series — fixed in-wall or in-ceiling — it makes it possible to build complete surround systems where every component disappears into the architecture when not in use.
