Round Dual Stereo in-ceiling speaker with twin tweeters
The KEF Ci160CRds is a round Dual Stereo flush-mount speaker designed to recreate a complete stereo image with a single speaker, ideal for all places where only one sound source can be installed. Sold singly, it is fitted with a 160 mm (6.5") dual voice coil woofer combined with two 19 mm (0.75") aluminium dome tweeters with tangerine waveguide, for a frequency response from 50 Hz to 20 kHz. The asymmetric tweeter island ensures a wide off-axis response, while the Ultra-Thin Bezel (UTB) keeps the visible edge to a minimum. The screw fixing system with moisture-resistant mounts also makes it suitable for bathrooms and exposed environments. The optional RIF160R pre-installation frame simplifies fitting during construction.
Dual Stereo: a complete stereo image from a single speaker
KEF Dual Stereo technology brings together in a single speaker all the elements needed to reproduce both stereo channels: the 160 mm dual voice coil woofer handles the left and right channels separately, while the two 19 mm tweeters with asymmetric island widen the off-axis response for a convincing soundstage at every point in the room. It is the ideal solution for bathrooms, corridors, alcoves and any space where installing a pair of separate speakers is not practicable.
High sensitivity and extended response in a compact format
With a sensitivity of 91 dB — among the highest in the entire Ci range — a response that extends down to 50 Hz and compatibility with amplifiers from 10 to 80 W into 8 Ω, the Ci160CRds delivers high-fidelity performance even in medium-sized rooms. With a mounting depth of 86 mm and an external diameter of 234.6 mm, it offers a ratio between physical size and sound quality that is hard to match in the Dual Stereo segment.
Installation in demanding environments thanks to moisture-resistant fixings
With an external diameter of 234.6 mm and a depth of 93 mm, the Ci160CRds requires a cut-out of 196 mm in diameter and fits ceilings with a thickness from 6 to 36 mm. The screw fixing system with moisture-resistant mounts allows safe installation in bathrooms, under eaves and in other exposed environments, with no need for additional accessories. The optional RIF160R pre-installation frame makes fitting easier during the construction phase.
