JL Audio M3-650VEX: 6.5-inch VeX enclosed speaker pod
The M3-650VEX is the VeX enclosed system with the 6.5-inch coaxial from the JL Audio M3 series: a compact, weather-resistant pod for boats, personal watercraft, off-road vehicles and any installation where room is tight. Continuous power handling is 60 W RMS into 4 ohms.
The pod comes in Gloss White or Matte Black, and each finish is also available with RGB LED lighting. Sold as a pair; mounting fixtures sold separately. The price is for a pair.

Woofer and tweeter
The woofer is optimised with DMA, the proprietary JL Audio technology that acts on the motor, the suspension and the cone profile to lower distortion and deliver clean, well controlled bass. Treated silk was chosen for the tweeter because it is light, well damped and linear in response, for crisp detail at the highest frequencies. A solid-state protection circuit keeps the signal within limits and reduces the chance of tweeter failure.
Amplification
The M3 series coaxial is made to benefit from a quality amplifier and stays clear at every volume level. Response starts at 100 Hz: for the best result the manufacturer points to pairing it with a good subwoofer. The pod is an enclosed system: the driver works in the volume of its own shell.
RGB LED lighting
On the With RGB versions the multicolour LEDs are built into the pod. The LEDs run on 10 to 14.4 V DC and draw 108 mA at most at 14.4 V.
Mounting
Each pod has a rotating clamp receiver that mates with VeX fixtures, sold separately, for fitting on flat surfaces or on tubes of many diameters. PS-SWMCP fixtures for VeX come in twenty-one clamp diameters, from 0.750 to 3.250 inches, and in a surface version. The pod is 179 mm in diameter and 156 mm deep. Light caps exist as separate accessories. Like the rest of the series, this model is made to live at sea and to cope with salt water in the long run. The series goes beyond international standards for salt and UV exposure.
