Cinema 100 CT: how the system is made up
The Cinema 100 CT puts everything needed for the six channels of a 5.1 system into one package. The five satellites are identical and handle front, centre and surround duties: each stands 21.3 cm tall, weighs 1.8 kg and can go on a stand or be fixed to the wall. The sixth channel, the low frequencies, is the job of the Cinema Sub, a powered subwoofer measuring 34.1 × 32.2 × 32.2 cm.
Each satellite has a mineral-loaded polymer cabinet and carries a 25 mm S-PAL dome tweeter in anodised pure aluminium, with ferrofluid for damping and cooling, shielded by a metal mesh and matched to the WaveGuide. Below it sits a 102 mm bass/midrange unit whose diaphragm is polypropylene with mineral loading; the handover between the two happens at 1.8 kHz. On-axis response spans 125 Hz to 20 kHz within ±2 dB, with 88 dB in-room sensitivity and recommended amplification of 15 to 100 W.
The Cinema Sub uses a 210 mm long-throw woofer with a reinforced co-polymer cone, reflex-loaded through two low-turbulence ports, plus a built-in amplifier offering automatic switch-on, standby and soft clipping. It covers 42 to 150 Hz within ±3 dB and goes down to 32 Hz (DIN). The low-pass filter, adjustable from 35 to 150 Hz, and the phase control let you blend it with the satellites, which reach 85 Hz at the bottom; connection is through two RCA inputs, and the receiver's subwoofer or LFE output alone will do.
