A high-end belt-drive turntable with a 10.4 kg aluminium platter, an electronically controlled outboard motor and the Ground it Carbon isolation base included. It carries the 10 inch Evo carbon arm and is supplied without a cartridge.
RPM 10 Carbon: mass and isolation
This is the senior model in the RPM series, and the whole design turns on mass and decoupling. The chassis is a CNC-milled MDF board filled with steel pellets coated in hard resin; after heat treatment it is given a carbon surface finish that helps keep resonance low. The deck alone weighs 22 kg.
Beneath the chassis sits the Ground it Carbon base, part of the package and a further 14.5 kg. The feet are magnetic: a pair of magnets in each one holds the deck nearly suspended and the studs serve only to centre it, so whatever comes up from the furniture does not reach platter and arm. The polished aluminium platter, TPE damped inside and topped with a vinyl layer, turns on an inverted bearing with ceramic ball and plate.
The motor is housed in a very heavy external unit with a steel base, built-in precision control and a selector for 33 and 45 rpm. The 10 inch Evo arm has a tapered carbon fibre tube, inverted bearings and flexible copper wiring inside, and suits demanding cartridges; which one to fit is up to the buyer. Supplied: five-pin Connect it CC phono lead on RCA (XLR optional), record puck, 45 rpm adapter and spirit level.
