Denon DP-450USB is a three-speed belt-drive turntable with S-shaped arm, phono stage, automatic stop and direct MP3 or WAV recording to USB storage.
Design and intended use
It shares the DP-400 mechanism, base and operating concept while adding computer-free digitisation. The record button saves to USB storage as compressed MP3 or uncompressed WAV; dedicated software can then help split and organise tracks. It is the appropriate step for archiving rare records or listening away from the analogue system.

Selection and setup
The USB port is for recording and does not turn the turntable into a file player. Archive quality depends on record condition, cleaning, stylus and correct tracking force; WAV retains more data while MP3 uses less storage. If digitisation is not required, DP-400 provides the same analogue concept at a lower price.
Placement should be stable, level and away from loudspeakers to limit acoustic feedback. Speed, record cleanliness and stylus condition should be checked before listening; adjustable models also require tracking force and anti-skating setup. Correct connection depends on the presence of a phono stage and must not be confused with an ordinary line input.
