Gallo Acoustics RoomSub 8

Gallo Acoustics RoomSub 8: active subwoofer with a downward-facing 8-inch woofer

The RoomSub 8 is an active subwoofer whose 8-inch woofer fires towards the floor. Gallo Acoustics has developed it as a complement to its whole loudspeaker range, to be used with music and with film soundtracks alike. The Class D amplifier supplies 200 W and, as stated by the manufacturer, the low-end extension reaches 32 Hz.

Of the two RoomSub models it is the more compact and the lighter one: the MDF cabinet weighs 12 kg, against the 19 kg of the RoomSub 10, which has a larger woofer and 300 W. The drive unit has a PP cone and an NBR surround. To blend it with the main loudspeakers there is an active low-pass filter, with a cut-off frequency that can be adjusted continuously.
