Fyne Audio Vintage Five: 2-way standmount loudspeaker with a 125 mm IsoFlare driver

The Vintage Five is the compact bookshelf model of the Vintage Series: it joins the cabinet work typical of traditional loudspeakers to the acoustic design of Dr Paul Mills. Sold as a pair.

Built by hand, the enclosures are small enough to fit without difficulty into rooms of small and medium size. The Vintage Five uses the same solutions as the bigger models in the series: a 125 mm IsoFlare driver with a FyneFlute surround, the BassTrax system with its port firing downwards, and hand-assembled crossovers given Deep Cryogenic Treatment. The built-in Presence control lets the sound be adjusted to suit the listening room.

Technical data

The crossover is a low-loss passive design with single-wire connection: second-order low-pass section, first-order high-pass section, crossover point at 1.9 kHz. Power handling is 50 watts RMS continuous and 200 watts peak. The cabinet is made of pressed birch ply of high density. Dimensions (height x width x depth) are 350 x 219 x 260 mm and net weight is 6.2 kg: both figures refer to a single speaker. The official data sheet places the S-Trax position 53 mm from the front edge of the cabinet.
