CHR motorised ceiling TV hinge that disappears into the ceiling cavity
CHR is the newest generation of ceiling TV hinges from Future Automation: a motorised mechanism that keeps the television lying flat inside the ceiling and swings it downwards, by as much as 100°, when it is time to watch.
The whole mechanism disappears into the ceiling cavity thanks to the MDF edge that is plastered in (Plaster In Edge): no flange is left showing around it and, with the lid shut, only a thin shadow gap can be seen. It reaches the site as a single unit already prepared for fitting, which lowers the risk of assembly mistakes and shortens the installation.
Key features
- Screen hinged down from the ceiling by as much as 100°
- MDF edge to be plastered in, with no flange visible on the ceiling
- Limit switches that adjust themselves at the closed position, for faster set-up
- Mechanical and electrical recovery systems supplied
- Control box housed inside the unit, reached through an internal inspection hatch
- White RAL9910 painted finish, other finishes on request
- Depth taken up inside the ceiling: 210 mm, rising to 270 mm for CHR8
Available sizes
There are five sizes, set apart by the maximum screen dimensions (height × width) and by the weight carried: CHR4 680 × 1130 mm and 55 kg, CHR5 800 × 1330 mm and 40 kg, CHR6 920 × 1530 mm and 85 kg, CHR7 1010 × 1730 mm and 65 kg, CHR8 1110 × 1980 mm and 140 kg. The television may be at most 100 mm deep, 150 mm for CHR8.
Control and integration
The hinge is controlled through IR, RS232 and contact closure; every size can also be had in the version with RF control, from CHR4-RF to CHR8-RF. If the third-party control system stops responding or the power fails, the recovery systems allow the mechanism to be reached safely. Future Automation says it redesigned the range from scratch starting from what installers reported, and describes operation as close to silent. CHR is rated for indoor use; the range also exists in versions with swivel, with a telescopic function or with the two combined.
