Focal Theva N°1: 2-way bookshelf loudspeaker
The compact model in the Theva line: a two-way bass reflex design that fits even small rooms, with a 16.5 cm Slatefiber cone for midrange and bass. On the dedicated stand, an optional extra 55 cm tall and tilted, the sound arrives aligned with the listening position.
Two Focal technologies shape the character of the series. The Slatefiber cone, made in France, combines non-woven recycled carbon fibres, all laid in the same direction, with a thermoplastic polymer: the result is a stiff, light and well-damped diaphragm. The TNF tweeter has an aluminium-magnesium inverted dome and a suspension in Poron, a shape-memory material taken from the company's beryllium tweeters, which lowers distortion.
Build and finishes
The cabinet has a recessed front, metal rings around the drivers and a fabric grille held by magnets, with no visible holes. The diaphragm, grey and veined like slate, stays on show when the grille is removed.
Partners
For home cinema the N°1 is completed by the other Theva models, floorstanding, bookshelf, centre and surround, together with the Sub 600 P, the subwoofer indicated for the series.
