Dynaudio Special Forty

Dynaudio Special Forty

The Special Forty is a passive two-way standmount loudspeaker that brings the best-known Dynaudio technologies together in a compact, classic cabinet. The crossover is a first-order type, with the Phase Alignment and Impedance Alignment solutions; both drivers have an extended bandwidth, so as to overlap and blend better around the crossover region.

The 17 cm woofer has a one-piece MSP cone, the asymmetrical spider and the AirFlow Basket, which cuts internal reflections without losing stiffness. The magnet is a hybrid, neodymium plus ferrite, and is placed inside the voice coil. The Esotar Forty tweeter has a soft dome with DSR treatment; behind it, a shaped duct in the magnet leaves more room for the rear chamber and the damping material, and a release vent under the voice coil prevents pressure from building up.
