At the top of the 3000c series, the Q Acoustics 3050C floorstander combines two 142 mm C3 mid/bass drivers, a 22 mm tweeter and a 41.6 litre cabinet for larger rooms, music and film. It is supplied as a pair.
3050C: the largest tower in the 3000c series
This is the largest model in the range and the one designed to fill bigger rooms, whether in a stereo system or as the front pair of a home cinema set-up. Its two 142 mm mid/bass drivers adopt the C3 Continuous Curved Cone profile taken from the 5000 series: a continuously curved diaphragm that provides bass dynamics, an even response and a clean join with the treble unit. The 22 mm tweeter, a design that comes from the Concept range, is sealed and isolated from the front panel to reduce distortion and interference caused by internal pressure.
The cabinet structure is stiffened by P2P (Point to Point) braces, which raise rigidity, improve stereo imaging and limit unwanted resonances. As in the brand's other floorstanders, the inside holds HPE (Helmholtz Pressure Equaliser) tubes that counter standing waves in the column's air volume, to the benefit of clarity and precision. The styling is clean and contemporary.
Stated response is 42 Hz-30 kHz at -6 dB, with a sensitivity of 90 dB; impedance is 6 ohms nominal with a 3.8 ohm minimum, and the suggested amplifier ranges from 25 to 150 W. Spikes and stabiliser included, each speaker measures 102.1 x 31.5 x 31.6 cm and weighs 17.8 kg.
