A compact tower with an 8-ohm load and stated 33 Hz extension
Totem Bison Tower is a two-way floorstanding loudspeaker with a 5.25-inch woofer, 1.3-inch textile tweeter and nominal 8-ohm impedance.
Within the Bison range it represents the most balanced tower in terms of bass extension, footprint and amplifier compatibility. It reaches a stated 33 Hz while standing only around 85 cm high, and its 8-ohm load is easier than the 4-ohm Twin Tower. It is therefore aimed at listeners wanting a full floorstander without making room and amplifier demands unnecessarily difficult.
Key features
- Two-way bass-reflex loudspeaker.
- 5.25-inch woofer with copper-clad voice coil.
- 1.3-inch laser-etched textile high-frequency unit.
- Specified frequency response of 33 Hz-30 kHz ±3 dB.
- 8-ohm nominal impedance and 88 dB sensitivity.
- Suggested amplifier range is 30-150 W.
- First-order network crossing at 2.5 kHz.
- Bi-wiring terminals plus a Delrin Claw decoupling base.
One woofer and an easier amplifier load
The single 5.25-inch driver works in a tuned, relatively narrow enclosure. Compared with Twin Tower, Bison Tower gives up the second woofer but gains an 8-ohm nominal load, broadening the range of suitable amplifiers. Its 88 dB sensitivity remains compatible with moderate power as long as the amplifier maintains useful control.
The middle ground in the Bison family
Bison Monitor is smaller and requires stands, while Twin Tower offers greater radiating area and higher dynamic capacity. Bison Tower sits between them, preserving the convenience of a floorstanding format without the larger footprint and current demands of the upper model.
Suitable rooms
Rear-wall distance can begin at roughly 15 cm and extend beyond 90 cm, making placement relatively flexible. It is especially suitable for medium and medium-to-large rooms where a complete tower is wanted without becoming visually or electrically dominant. Lock-miter monocoque construction and internal borosilicate damping help keep the cabinet rigid and control stored energy. This makes the speaker suitable for systems where it must remain close to furniture without becoming physically overbearing. Its relatively modest height also makes it easier to maintain correct tweeter height in normal domestic seating positions.
