Thirteen amplified channels for reference immersive cinemas
A Japanese-built AV amplifier driving thirteen speakers and four subwoofers at 150W per channel.
The AVC-A10H brings Denon reference-series engineering to a thirteen-channel amplified configuration, rated at 150W per channel into 8 ohms. It can power very extensive immersive layouts without a bank of separate amplifiers and also manages four subwoofers. Compared with the X6800H it adds two internal power stages, more output and higher-grade construction; compared with the A1H it gives up two channels while retaining the same high-end design logic.
Key features
- Thirteen amplified channels rated at 150W per channel into 8 ohms
- Four independent subwoofer outputs
- Dolby Atmos, DTS:X Pro, IMAX Enhanced and Auro-3D
- Seven all-8K HDMI inputs and three outputs
- Audyssey MultEQ XT32 and compatibility with Dirac Live upgrades
- Construction and tuning carried out in Japan
One chassis for layouts that usually require several amplifiers
With thirteen amplifiers available, the A10H supports layouts with numerous surround and height channels while giving the designer greater freedom. Multichannel pre-outs still allow the front speakers or other groups to use dedicated power amplifiers. Four subwoofers are treated as separate channels, which helps produce more even bass across several seats.
Video connectivity comprises seven 8K inputs, three outputs and the functions required by current cinema and gaming sources. HEOS brings high-resolution music and multi-room distribution into the same component. Audyssey is included, while Dirac Live provides an optional route for users wanting more extensive optimisation tools.
Amplifier assignment can distribute the thirteen power stages among main channels, heights, bi-amplification and zones according to the project. In a room of this scale, the decision depends on more than the nominal count: speaker sensitivity, distances, acoustic treatment and target level determine whether to retain internal amplification or add dedicated power amplifiers. Careful assignment also preserves the intended balance between cinema performance and secondary-zone convenience.
The 23.6kg chassis, power supply sized for thirteen stages and internal layout suit a component intended as the stable heart of a major room. The A10H is therefore the destination for buyers wanting almost the scale of the A1H with two fewer channels and a more manageable system brief, rather than merely a more powerful X Series model.
