Analogue interconnect in Perfect-Surface Copper
Golden Gate is an analogue interconnect with solid-core wires in Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC). It links turntables, TVs, AV receivers, soundbars and other sources, with RCA or 3.5mm mini-jack plugs depending on the sockets available.
The choice of metal is its defining trait: a high-purity copper whose surface is protected throughout every step of manufacture.
Conductors and geometry
PSC is a pure copper with low oxide content, drawn with a proprietary process that keeps its surface smooth and soft: the outcome is a low-distortion conductor. Each conductor is a single solid wire, so the electrical and magnetic interplay among strands, which in conventional cables hardens and muddies the sound, is absent. The Asymmetrical Double-Balanced layout separates the ground return from the shield and reduces ground impedance in single-ended links.
Insulation and noise reduction
The foamed polyethylene insulation (Foamed-PE) holds plenty of air and soaks up little energy: timing errors drop and the soundstage stays sharper.
The Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation system relies on metal layers that stop a large part of radio-frequency noise ahead of the grounded layer, so it cannot modulate the ground reference of the equipment.
Terminations and lengths
The plugs are gold-plated and cold-welded: the joint is made by pressure, without the heat and solder of conventional soldering. Lengths: 0.6 m, 1 m, 1.5 m, 2 m, 3 m, 5 m, 8 m, 12 m, 16 m and 20 m.
- RCA to RCA: the classic link between a line-level source and the input of an amplifier or AV receiver.
- 3.5mm to RCA: carries the signal of a device fitted with a mini-jack socket to the RCA inputs of the system.
- 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male: joins two devices that both have a mini-jack socket.
- 3.5mm male to 3.5mm female: works as an extension for a mini-jack lead already in place.
