FireBird 48: a 48 Gbps HDMI cable with solid silver conductors
FireBird 48 is a 48 Gbps HDMI cable built for high-end audio/video systems. Its bandwidth is split across four balanced pairs carrying 12 Gbps each, which is enough for 8K video and, in professional use, for signals as high as 10K Ultra HD.
Owners of 4K sources and displays need not change anything: the cable is fully backwards compatible with current 4K equipment, and the tighter materials and construction demanded by 48 Gbps are just as useful at those resolutions.
Perfect-Surface Silver conductors
Every conductor is solid silver of the Perfect-Surface Silver (PSS) grade throughout, ranking as the highest-grade conductor metal in the AudioQuest range. A solid wire removes the magnetic and electrical interplay from one strand to the next that affects multi-strand designs. All conductors are Direction-Controlled, meaning they are oriented one specific way so that radio-frequency noise is drained away: this is why the plugs carry arrows, which should point at the TV, or run from the source to the A/V receiver.
Noise reduction
Noise-Dissipation is rated Level 6. A high-loss carbon layer sits around the conductors and is combined with the Dielectric-Bias System (DBS). The four FRL pairs and the eARC pair are also wrapped in a carbon layer enriched with graphene, enclosed between metal layers.
eARC and gaming
The eARC channel returns audio from the TV to a soundbar, receiver or ARC input and allows lossless multi-channel sound; in FireBird 48 the eARC pair is direction-controlled like the rest of the conductors. On the gaming side the cable supports 4K120, VRR, ALLM and QFT, useful with consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X or with a gaming PC.
