18 Gbps HDMI cable with solid copper conductors for 4K, HDR and eARC
BlueBerry 18 is an 18 Gbps HDMI cable made to link televisions, AV receivers, soundbars, game consoles and other sources. Its 18 Gbps of bandwidth covers 8K video at 30 frames per second, HDR (High Dynamic Range) pictures and eARC, the enhanced version of the Audio Return Channel.
The design rests on two construction choices: solid-core copper in place of stranded wire, and direction control applied to every one of the 19 conductors inside the cable, so that radio-frequency noise is drained away as efficiently as possible.
Long-Grain Copper conductors
The conductors are made of solid Long-Grain Copper. In a stranded conductor the individual strands interact with each other, both electrically and magnetically, and that interaction is a leading cause of distortion in any cable: a solid core removes it at the root. High-purity metal, selected insulation and careful shielding complete the structure.
Noise reduction
A shield, even a total one, cannot stop on its own the interference generated by Wi-Fi networks and mobile phones. BlueBerry 18 uses Level 1 Noise-Dissipation: all 19 conductors are Direction-Controlled, meaning the audio/video signals, eARC, the ground-reference drains, the control lines and the power lines. The two conductors reserved for eARC are direction-controlled as well, which helps the audio travelling back from the television to a soundbar or receiver, lossless multichannel included.
Connection direction and lengths
Arrows printed on the plugs show the correct orientation: they should face the television or, on the run between a source and an AV receiver, the receiver. BlueBerry 18 is offered in lengths of 0.6 m, 1 m, 1.5 m, 2 m, 3 m and 5 m.
