MM/MC phono preamplifier with headphone amplifier, Bluetooth and USB recording.
PPA7: the design
The PPA7 is a compact phono preamplifier for moving magnet (MM) and moving coil (MC) cartridges. For MM the standard 47 kohm input impedance comes with selectable 100 or 220 pF capacitance; for MC the load can be set to 100 or 330 ohm. Aluminium chassis, 33 mm OLED display and remote control: it is designed to sit alongside the D7 and the 6000 and 7000 series.
It runs from an external 12 V power supply and internally generates two symmetrical regulated rails, +8.5 and -8.5 V, for the analogue circuitry. It has a dedicated current-feedback headphone amplifier, transmits over Bluetooth 5.3 aptX HD to compatible headphones and speakers, and archives your vinyl to a PC or Mac via the USB-C port, from 44.1 to 192 kHz at 16 or 24 bit, with recording gain adjustable from -12 to +3 dB.
