One stereo amplifier and a dedicated supply for 300 watts
Nu-Vista PAS is a balanced two-chassis amplifier delivering 2x300 W into 8 ohms, designed for Nu-Vista PRE.
Nu-Vista PAS divides audio amplification and power supply between two chassis. The stereo amplifier delivers 300 W per channel into 8 ohms, 500 W into 4 and 1,000 W into 2; the power unit contains twin toroidal transformers. Four 6S51N Nuvistors operate in the input buffer, followed by five transistor pairs per channel. PAS accepts RCA or XLR from a preamplifier and has no source selection or volume control.

High-current stereo
Progression to 1,000 W into 2 ohms indicates use with severe impedance minima, not permission to exceed speaker limits. PAS concentrates both channels in one amplifier while separating mains power from the signal. Volume always remains upstream.
Two transformers, one audio chassis
The external supply weighs 40 kg and the amplifier 27 kg. Distance reduces interference while twin toroids support simultaneous channel demand. Placement and ventilation must be designed before purchase.
PRE is the natural partner
Nu-Vista PRE provides XLR outputs, triggers and suitable impedance. Other preamplifiers work when level, gain and connections match. A variable DAC is possible but reduces flexibility and demands safe volume management.
PAS versus PAM
PAS powers stereo with two total chassis and 300 W per channel. Two PAM units require four chassis and double nominal output while completely separating left and right. PAS is already the reference solution for most domestic loads.
Responsible installation
The complete system weighs 67 kg and can draw substantial current. Shelves, outlets, power sequence and terminal tightness must be suitable. Triggering avoids separate switching but cannot replace protection and correctly sized mains. Before preferring it to 800.2, decide whether physical separation and freedom to change preamplifier justify two chassis, more cables and greater mass. The benefit is architectural and organisational as well as electrical. For Nu-Vista PAS, dimensions, weight, ventilation, connections and system capacity should be checked as one project, leaving operating margin instead of using every specification at its limit. A trial in the actual chain remains more useful than conclusions drawn from one technical figure.
