Dual mono Class AB for absolute loudspeaker control
Michi S5 is a dual mono stereo power amplifier rated at 500 W per channel into 8 ohms and 800 W into 4 ohms, with two 2,200 VA toroidal transformers and 32 output devices.
The two channels have independent power supplies and a total capacitor reserve of 188,000 µF. The Class AB output stage is designed to maintain current and control even with difficult loads, while XLR, RCA, rhodium-plated terminals and automation interfaces simplify integration into reference systems.

Power into 8 and 4 ohms
S5 delivers 500 W per channel into 8 ohms and more than 800 W into 4 ohms, with declared THD below 0.008%. The available reserve is designed to keep drive stable when loudspeaker impedance and phase become more demanding.
Dual mono architecture
The left and right channels are organised with independent power supplies and separate signal paths. The dual mono structure reduces interaction between channels and allows each power section to draw from its own energy reserve.
2,200 VA transformers
Each channel has a 2,200 VA toroidal transformer, designed and manufactured in-house. Epoxy-filled enclosures help contain vibration and mechanical noise during operation.
Capacitor reserve
Four British-made filter capacitors provide a combined 188,000 µF. The substantial capacity supports dynamic peaks and contributes to bass control when the load demands immediate current.
Output stage
Thirty-two high-current devices share the work of the output stage and provide headroom with more severe loads. The aim is to maintain smooth delivery rather than simply achieve a high power figure.
Class AB and bandwidth
The declared response runs from 20 Hz to 20 kHz within +0/-0.15 dB and extends to 100 kHz. The damping factor of 350 complements a Class AB section focused on loudspeaker control.
RCA and XLR inputs
S5 accepts unbalanced RCA and balanced XLR inputs, with gains of 28 dB and 24 dB respectively. Having both allows pairing with different preamplifiers and with fully balanced systems.
Terminals and automation
The dual high-current loudspeaker terminals are rhodium-plated. RS232 and Ethernet allow integration with automation systems, while the remote control manages the main operating and configuration functions.
Chassis and display
The power amplifier measures 485 x 238 x 465 mm and weighs 59.9 kg, much of that mass resulting from the dual mono construction. The colour front display keeps operating status clearly visible without altering the amplifier's restrained design.
