Five hundred stereo watts in one chassis with two independent channels
M8s 500S is a balanced power amplifier delivering 2x500 W into 8 ohms and 2x900 W into 4 ohms, designed for M8s PRE.
M8s 500S supplies the power of a separate M8 system without moving to two monoblocks. Its 500 W per channel into 8 ohms rises to 900 W into 4 ohms, indicating reserve for current-hungry loudspeakers. It has no volume or source selection and accepts signal from M8s PRE, a variable DAC or another compatible preamplifier. RCA and XLR have loop outputs, while twin terminals facilitate bi-wiring.

One stereo amplifier, not two 700M units in one case
500S shares a chassis and overall supply environment between channels while retaining a high-power balanced design. 700M monoblocks physically separate mains, vibration and wiring and add 200 nominal watts. 500S reduces space, sockets and cost; for many loudspeakers it already offers reserve far beyond domestic need.
From 8 to 4 ohms without losing authority
The rise from 500 to 900 W shows an ability to feed loads drawing more current. It does not mean universal compatibility: minimum impedance, electrical phase and speaker power handling still decide. The most useful benefit is often not maximum volume, but reduced compression on large transients and firmer bass control.
RCA, XLR and loops
XLR preserves the balanced path with M8s PRE and helps over long cables; RCA works with single-ended preamplifiers. Loop outputs repeat the signal for bi-amping or a line-level subwoofer, without turning the amplifier into a controlled distributor. Only one input path should be active and volume must remain upstream.
Bi-wiring without inventing power
Twin terminals permit two cable pairs to separate crossover sections in the loudspeaker. Power still comes from the same channel and this is not bi-amping. Benefit depends on speaker construction and cable arrangement. Separate amplification for each section requires loops and additional power stages in a more complex design.
Installation and safety
A power amplifier approaching one kilowatt into 4 ohms needs ventilation, suitable mains and correctly tightened terminals. The trigger lets M8s PRE coordinate power. Before high-level tests, loudspeaker limits and absence of preamplifier offset or noise must be checked: large reserve also magnifies upstream errors.
