Eight channels of high-power Class D amplification
Trinnov Amplitude8 is an 8-channel power amplifier designed for multichannel home theater systems, with continuous output of up to 500 W per channel into 2-ohm loads.
The architecture combines two four-channel amplifier blocks in the same chassis, each with its own dedicated linear power supply. Balanced inputs and input sensitivity are designed for integration with Altitude processors. Product code THOM003688.

Power into 8, 4 and 2 ohms
Each channel delivers 225 W RMS into 8 ohms, 375 W RMS into 4 ohms and 500 W RMS into 2 ohms, specified from 20 Hz to 20 kHz at 0.05% THD+N. The two-section architecture allows all eight modules to be powered by two dedicated toroidal transformers.
Audio performance
The stated frequency response is +/-0.5 dB from 0 Hz to 20 kHz and is load-independent. Signal-to-noise ratio is 125 dB A-weighted referenced to rated output, while damping factor exceeds 6000 at 100 Hz and 2000 across the range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.
Balanced inputs and loudspeaker outputs
Each channel provides a balanced XLR input with 47 kohm impedance per phase and 6.15 V RMS sensitivity, equal to +18 dBu, to obtain 225 W into 8 ohms. Outputs use dedicated five-way binding posts for each channel.
Integration with Altitude processors
The input level of Amplitude8 is matched to the output level of Altitude32 to optimize dynamic range and background noise. Connection can be made with eight independent XLR cables or, in compatible installations, with a single eight-channel D-Sub connection.
Dual power supply and cooling
The two amplification sections have separate power supplies and require two mains connections. The power supply accepts 117 or 230 V AC at 50/60 Hz; maximum full-load consumption is stated as 1.8 kW for each section. Cooling is by convection, with no internal fans.
Dimensions, weight and installation
The chassis measures 443 x 186.5 x 502 mm. Stated net weight is 48 kg, while shipping weight is 59 kg. A 12 V trigger input and output are provided, and the standard warranty is 5 years, transferable under the manufacturer's conditions.
