Goldring 2300 (Stylus)
All heads of the Goldring 2000 series are equipped with Moving Iron technology. This gives them the high levels of detail associated with more expensive moving coil designs, while retaining the convenience of a replaceable stylus and the high output associated with moving magnet types. The cartridge employs a fixed samarium cobolt magnet and high power coil combination so that a very light iron/nickel cantilever terminal can be used instead of the much heavier permanent magnet used in conventional designs. This reduces the moving mass of the cartridge allowing the stylus to more closely track the record groove.
Due to their high power output, Goldring 2000 Series cartridges must be used with the standard moving magnet phono input of an integrated amplifier.
The use of a bare-diamond elliptical stylus offers high frequency clarity and excellent transient response due to its lower tip mass than alloyed types. This recording cartridge will upgrade many mid-range turntables, allowing them to produce an even finer sound.
