Focal Kanta N°2: floorstanding loudspeaker, 3-way
A floorstanding loudspeaker with one midrange and two 16.5 cm Flax woofers, the latter with NIC motors, and the beryllium tweeter. The sound is precise and warm at once, in a cabinet with a very recognisable design.
The Kanta series was the first from Focal to pair Flax cones, made of French flax fibre, with a beryllium tweeter: the flax gives clarity and accuracy, the beryllium, extremely stiff, finesse in the treble. The tweeter is the 27 mm IAL3 inverted dome; the midrange has the TMD suspension, which steadies its movement.
Cabinet and finishes
The matt front, which absorbs light instead of reflecting it, is moulded in one piece from HDP, a very dense polymer, and pairs with a gloss rear shell in moulded wood, also made in one piece. Soft angles and a double reflex port help a warm sound. The base is zamak, with a glass plate; the Focus Time layout puts every driver equally far from the listener's ear. Built in France.

For cinema at home it partners the Kanta Center and, for the bass, the Sub 1000 F subwoofer.
